As your Euro MP, I aim to be an effective voice for the East of England in Brussels. But beyond that there are improvements I want to see – to the every day lives of working people, for those who are disadvantaged or discriminated against in any way, for people around the world who face a daily struggle just to stay alive. They are things I know you care about too. I use my position, at every opportunity, to achieve change for them, on your behalf.

My priorities are:

Earlier this year I invited people from across the region to join me in signing an online petition set up by the European Disability Forum, which declares;

"I sign for a European Union in which disabled people’s rights are protected through effective legislation, combating all forms of discrimination and guaranteeing the full inclusion of 50 million citizens with disabilities in the European society."

The campaign has now achieved in its aim to collect at least 1 000 000 signatures to combat discrimination in all aspects of the lives of disabled citizens in Europe. In fact the petition collected 1.2m signitures and has been now officially handed to the EU, as a clear call for action.
