I have lobbied long and hard to secure better legislation on the testing of cosmetics and animals and was involved in the total ban on the sale of these products passed by the European Parliament in 2002.

That decision will mean an end, at last to the cruel and unnecessary suffering which thousands of animals are subjected to in the name of beauty.
